Fall 2008 Sports

We are the GACS LIONS ! Our colors are blue and gold.

This fall we hope to offer:

Boys tackle football

Girls volleyball and cheerleading

Registration for Fall season is July 28-August 1st
Students wishing to participate in homeschool football, volleyball or cheerleading this fall will need to complete a registration form, pay registration fees, and participate in upcoming fundraising.
Participants registering after these dates will be subject to a late fee.

 

FUNDRAISERS


 

We are selling t-shirts with the new GACS logo. Cost $10 each. Shirts are available at most games and other homeschool events. Email Suzanne if you would like to purchase a shirt at another time. sheepers@bellsouth.net

Wear your shirts to any GACS games to show your homeschool spirit!

Cookbooks are available. Proceeds will benefit the homeschool sports program which is open to all homeschool students ages 12-18.These personalized cookbooks make great gifts at only $10 each.

Hello! We're glad that you are interested in sports for homeschoolers in the area. First off, we are organized through Golden Acres Christian School (GACS). GACS is a church school that allows families to be able to comply with Alabama homeschooling laws. Now you are probably thinking that since you are not enrolled in GACS that you cannot participate in these sports. We are opening athletic enrollment to families in both states. Enrollment

Homeschooling students in Georgia and Alabama will be allowed to enroll in GACS through a special athletic enrollment..  Families will be able to enroll for athletics with GACS by completing a registration form and paying an athletics fee. Equipment fees and uniform costs are in addition to the athletics fee and will vary depending on the sport. Students will also need to be in compliance with the homeschooling laws in their state to be able to participate. Documentation of compliance will be required. Georgia families will need to provide a copy of their intent to homeschool and copies of their monthly attendance forms. Alabama families not already enrolled with GACS for academics will need to provide a copy of their enrollment form with a church school or private tutor. Families already enrolled with GACS will use their academics enrollment as their documentation.

 
Cost
Enrollment in athletics is $50 per student. Enrollment allows students to participate in sports throughout the school year.  Payment plans are available for families with more than one participating student. Additional costs for uniforms and equipment will vary and are in addition to the enrollment fee. 
 
All fees must be paid before the student may participate in games.
 
Liability
All players must assume full liability for any injury. Liability waivers must be signed by both parents for participation.
