Registration

The cost to participate in athletics is $70. If you have already participated in another sport this year, the cost for the 2nd sport is only $25.

FUNDRAISING

All participating athletes are required to participate in fundraising activities during the season in order to support the development of our sports program. These will include one or more of the following:

This is how it works.
1. Send a note or email to all your friends and family telling them that you are involved with Golden Acres Sports Program and would love them to help support the program.
2. Send the website-

Click on Start Shopping at the bottom right of the page.
As they shop, they can add things to their cart.
3. When they go to checkout, have them go to GEORGIA and then GOLDEN ACRES SPORTS
4. This is an ongoing fundraiser, so they can order throughout the year. All products will be delivered to their door. Current gives us a portion of everything sold.

It is important that we keep our fundraisers going-we use this money to pay for ICSGA fees, insurance, facilities, referees, equipment and our end of the season banquet. Without fundraising, we will not have the money to continue our program.

End of season Award's Banquet will be held on Thursday, April 23rd.Each player will receive awards for participation and a baseball pin.

Letters may be purchased for jackets at a cost of $10 each.

Baseball Spring 2009

Homeschool baseball is open to any boys grades 8-12 in the Phenix City/ Columbus area that are currently homeschooling. All participants must apply for athletic enrollment with GACS and be in compliance with the homeschooling laws in their state.

Baseball practice will begin Monday, February 2, 2009. Practice will be at the Pop Austin field on Anderson St. in Columbus. If you are not familiar with this field, it is off of Veteran's Parkway across from Hamilton Hardward. Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:30-4:00 pm EST.

We are trying to see what kind of interest there is in having a 3 day homeschool baseball summer camp. Please let us know if you would like to participate so that we can make plans.

May 18-20
9 Am - 12 Pm
Lakewood Coach Pitch Fields in Phenix City

This camp will begin to teach the fundamentals of baseball. Instructors will be the GACS Homeschool Baseball team. The cost is $30 for the first child from your family with each additional child being discounted to $20 each. The money raised will be used to help purchase equipment for the team.

Scheduling Information

We need to be sure to be on time for travel to our games. All our games are away this season, but we are playing double headers so that it cuts down on the number of times we have to travel. We will try to arrange carpools for many of the games, however, each parent is ultimately responsible to make sure their player arrives at the game on time. With only 9 players, we would have to forfeit if even one player doesn't arrive at the game.

Cost
Enrollment in athletics is $70 per student. Payment plans are available for families with more than one participating student. Additional costs for uniforms and equipment wil be approximately $50. 
 
Liability
All players must assume full liability for any injury. Liability waivers must be signed by both parents for participation. Liability and accident insurance will be available before the season begins.This coverage will be used only after any other applicable coverage is exhausted. The cost for this insurance is included in your athletic fee. More details will be discuss at the upcoming parent meeting TBA.
