Cost and Uniforms
Enrollment in athletics is $70 per student. Payment plans are available for families with more than one participating student. Additional costs for uniforms and equipment are approximately $350 per player. All students participating in football need to present for proper fitting for their uniform at Team Sports. All uniforms will be ordered from Team Sports Supply in Columbus.

Liability

All players assume full liabilit for any injuries incurred during practice or games. Liability and accident insurance will be available before the season begins. All students will be required to carry special coverage for football.  This coverage will be used only after any other applicable coverage is exhausted. The cost for this insurance is included in your athletic fee. Both GACS and the ICSGA have liabitility waivers that must be signed by both parents before athletes are eligible to play.

Equipment Maintenance

It's the smell of money - up to $350 worth of dirty, sweaty football gear to be more precise - that you shelled out less than three months ago.  You might ask why I spent my time today washing, scrubbing and setting out in the sun as much of this equipment and uniform as I could.  The answer is simply NEXT SEASON. Of course, it is highly unlikely that my son will be the same size next year, but it is possible that another kid will be that size who wants to play.  Thus, a co-operative is born.

Between now and the time comes again that we have to buy gear for our team, we can decide on the best way to do this.  With what our returning players have and our graduating seniors could donate, we could do a Spare Closet; a Swap Meet; a Bob's Barter Bop; an Auction or even open a Play-It-Again type "store" for a day.  However we decide (and we need your suggestions) we want to do it to support the team and encourage others who don't have the financial resources to give their kids the opportunity to play next year.

So, if you haven't already strapped on the goggles, clamped on the nose plug and snapped on the Playtex Living gloves, get those stinky helmets and shoulder pads aired out and the uniform and cleats in the washer so they will be in the best possible "for sale" shape for next season's Get The Guys in Gear event. If you have the resources to donate the old and buy new for next year, contact Cass at calagara2@bellsouth.net and she'll make arrangements to get it from you and clean it up herself.
